Public Hearings

7 public hearings were held throughout the state. 

As part of a statewide requirement, sponsors were to hold 7 public hearings to discuss the petition. These had to be held in order to begin collecting signatures on the petition packets.

Notably, during these hearings, there were only two individuals who spoke in favor of the new flag, one in Salt Lake County, and one in American Fork. 

These hearings demonstrated that the vast majority of Utah supports this initiative, and very few want to keep the new flag as a state flag.
